📝 Ingredients

Apple Pie Filling

  • 2 cups diced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Cheesecake Filling

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

For the Pies

  • 10–12 pie crust rounds (store-bought or homemade, 4–5” in diameter)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

Vanilla Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Make the Apple Filling

In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir well and cook for 5–7 minutes, until the apples are soft.
Add the cornstarch slurry and cook for 1–2 more minutes until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Let cool.

2. Make the Cheesecake Filling

In a bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Transfer to a piping bag or set aside with a spoon.

3. Assemble the Pies

Spoon about 1–2 tsp of cheesecake filling onto the center of each pie crust round. Top with a spoonful of the cooled apple mixture.
Brush the edges with egg wash, fold over into a half-moon shape, and seal with a fork.

4. Fry the Pies

Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) in a deep skillet or pot. Fry 2–3 pies at a time for 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.

5. Glaze and Serve

Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make the glaze. Drizzle over warm pies or dip them in. Let set slightly before serving.
